Fungoid is used to treat superficial fungal infections of the skin, particularly tinea capitis (ringworm of the scalp), tinea corporis (ringworm of the body), and other dermatophyte infections. It may also be effective against certain yeast infections of the skin.

Fungoid contains ciclopirox, an antifungal agent that interferes with fungal cell membrane synthesis. It penetrates the skin layers to reach the site of infection and has broad-spectrum antifungal activity against various dermatophytes and some yeast organisms.

Fungoid is for topical use only and should not be ingested or applied to the eyes or mucous membranes. Patients should inform their healthcare provider of any allergies before use. Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed, even if symptoms improve earlier. Consult a doctor if there is no improvement after 4 weeks of treatment.
