Futibatinib
Futibatinib is a targeted therapy medication that inhibits fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFR) 1, 2, 3, and 4 by covalently binding to them. It is primarily used to treat adults with unresectable locally advanced or metastatic cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) that has FGFR2 fusion or other rearrangements and has progressed after prior treatment. By blocking abnormal FGFR signaling that supports cancer cell growth and survival, futibatinib helps slow disease progression in eligible patients.
Futibatinib is an FGFR inhibitor used to treat FGFR-altered cholangiocarcinoma that has returned or spread after prior therapy.

Treats adults with previously treated, unresectable locally advanced or metastatic cholangiocarcinoma harboring FGFR2 fusion or other rearrangement. Diagnosis requires confirmed FGFR alteration through appropriate testing.
Futibatinib is a small molecule kinase inhibitor that irreversibly (covalently) binds to FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3, and FGFR4. By blocking these receptors, it inhibits FGFR-mediated signaling pathways that would otherwise promote cancer cell proliferation and survival.
Common side effects include hyperphosphatemia, nail toxicity, dry mouth, and liver enzyme elevations. Eye exams are recommended at baseline and regularly during treatment. May cause fetal harm; contraception required during and after treatment. Drug interactions may occur with CYP3A inhibitors/inducers. Efficacy depends on confirmed FGFR alterations—patient selection requires molecular testing.
