Hereditary angioedema (HAE) - a rare genetic disorder causing recurrent episodes of painful swelling in various body parts due to dysregulation of the bradykinin pathway

Binds to the catalytic domain of activated Factor XII (FXIIa and βFXIIa), inhibiting its enzymatic activity and thereby blocking the contact activation pathway that leads to bradykinin production and inflammation

As a novel FXII inhibitor, garadacimab represents a new therapeutic approach targeting the upstream contact activation system. Clinical trials were underway to evaluate its efficacy and safety profile for prophylactic use in HAE patients.
