Humate-P is indicated for the treatment and prevention of bleeding in patients with hemophilia A (congenital Factor VIII deficiency) and for the treatment of spontaneous or trauma-induced bleeding in patients with von Willebrand disease when desmopressin (DDAVP) alone is ineffective or contraindicated.

Humate-P replaces the missing or deficient clotting factors (Factor VIII and von Willebrand factor) in the blood, helping to restore the normal coagulation cascade and enable the formation of stable blood clots to stop or prevent bleeding.

Humate-P is derived from human plasma and carries a risk of transmitting infectious agents. It should be used with caution in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components. Dosing is individualized based on the patient's condition, weight, and clinical response. This medication is typically administered under healthcare provider supervision, particularly for home treatment programs.
