Jalyn is indicated for the treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate gland. It helps relieve urinary symptoms such as difficulty starting urination, weak stream, and frequent or urgent urination.

Jalyn combines two mechanisms: dutasteride inhibits the enzyme 5-alpha reductase to reduce conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), thereby shrinking prostate tissue over time. Tamsulosin is an alpha-1 blocker that relaxes smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder neck, providing more immediate symptom relief.

Jalyn is for use in men only and should not be handled by women or children due to potential absorption of dutasteride. Common side effects may include decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, and dizziness. It takes several months to see full effects on prostate size. Regular monitoring and PSA testing may be recommended during treatment.
