Kengreal is indicated to reduce the risk of thrombotic events (including stent thrombosis) in adults undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) who have not been diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).

Kengreal is a direct, competitive inhibitor of the P2Y12 ADP receptor on platelet surfaces. By blocking this receptor, it prevents ADP-mediated platelet activation and aggregation, reducing thrombus formation at the site of arterial injury during PCI.

Kengreal is administered intravenously by healthcare professionals in a hospital setting. Common side effects include bleeding, dyspnea, and thromboocytopenia. It should not be used in patients with significant active bleeding. Transitioning from other oral P2Y12 inhibitors to Kengreal should follow specific dosing protocols. Contraindicated in patients with severe hypersensitivity to the drug.
