Keralyt 5 is used to treat common warts, plantar warts (on the feet), corns, calluses, and acne vulgaris. It is also sometimes used for other conditions involving thickened or scaly skin as determined by a healthcare provider.

Salicylic acid acts as a keratolytic agent by softening and dissolving the protein (keratin) that holds together the outer layer of skin. This helps shed dead skin cells and allows the affected skin to be removed more easily, including wart tissue.

For external use only; avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes. Do not use on moles, birthmarks, or warts with hair. Patients with diabetes or poor circulation should use with caution. Not recommended for children under 2 years of age. Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
