Leqvio is indicated for adults with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH) or clinical atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) who require additional LDL-C lowering on top of diet and statin therapy.

Leqvio contains inclisiran, a small interfering RNA (siRNA) that targets and reduces production of PCSK9 protein in the liver, allowing more LDL receptors to remain active and remove LDL cholesterol from the bloodstream.

Leqvio is administered as a subcutaneous injection by a healthcare professional twice yearly (every 6 months). Common side effects may include injection site reactions. It should be used with diet and statin therapy and is not for use in patients with severe hepatic impairment or during pregnancy.
