Libtayo is used to treat adults with metastatic or locally advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, advanced basal cell carcinoma that has progressed after hedgehog pathway inhibitor therapy, advanced non-small cell lung cancer with high PD-L1 expression, and metastatic or recurrent cervical cancer.

Libtayo is a monoclonal antibody that blocks the PD-1 receptor on immune cells. By inhibiting PD-1, it releases the brakes on the immune system, allowing T cells to recognize and destroy cancer cells more effectively.

Libtayo is administered as an intravenous infusion by a healthcare professional. It can cause immune-mediated side effects affecting various organs including the lungs, colon, liver, and endocrine glands. Infusion reactions may occur. Patients should discuss their complete medical history and all current medications with their doctor before starting treatment. Pregnant patients should not use Libtayo as it may harm an unborn baby.
