Malaseb is used to treat seborrheic dermatitis, dermatomycosis (fungal skin infections), Malassezia yeast infections, and bacterial skin infections in dogs and cats. It is commonly prescribed for skin conditions affecting the face, feet, and skin folds.
Malaseb contains miconazole nitrate (an antifungal agent) and chlorhexidine gluconate (an antiseptic with both antibacterial and antifungal properties). Together, they eliminate fungi and bacteria on the skin surface while the shampoo's degreasing action removes scales and debris.
For veterinary use only in dogs and cats. Avoid contact with eyes. Bathe twice weekly initially, then as needed. Contact your veterinarian if skin irritation worsens. Do not use on broken skin extensively. Always follow your vet's prescribed treatment duration.
