Neisseria Meningitidis Serogroup Y CRM197 Conjugate Vaccine
The Neisseria Meningitidis Serogroup Y Oligosaccharide Diphtheria Crm197 Protein Conjugate Vaccine is a meningococcal conjugate vaccine designed to prevent invasive meningococcal disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroup Y. The vaccine contains oligosaccharide antigens from the serogroup Y capsule conjugated to CRM197, a nontoxic mutant of diphtheria toxin, which enhances immune response. It is indicated for active immunization of individuals at increased risk of meningococcal disease, including adolescents, young adults, and those traveling to or living in endemic areas.
A meningococcal conjugate vaccine preventing serogroup Y meningococcal disease through immune stimulation using a diphtheria protein carrier.

Active immunization against invasive meningococcal disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroup Y. Recommended for adolescents (typically 11-12 years with booster at 16), young adults, military personnel, travelers to endemic regions, and individuals with complement deficiencies, asplenia, or other high-risk conditions.
The oligosaccharide antigens from the serogroup Y capsule are conjugated to CRM197, a nontoxic mutant of diphtheria toxin. This conjugation converts the T-cell independent polysaccharide antigen into a T-cell dependent antigen, resulting in stronger antibody responses, immunological memory, and longer-lasting protection compared to unconjugated polysaccharide vaccines.
Administered as an intramuscular injection, typically as a single dose or part of a multi-valent meningococcal vaccine series. Common adverse reactions include injection site pain, headache, fatigue, and mild fever. Contraindicated in individuals with severe hypersensitivity to any vaccine component. Does not protect against other meningococcal serogroups or non-meningococcal infections.
