Nilotinib
Nilotinib is an antineoplastic medication classified as a BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It is primarily used to treat Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (Ph+ CML) in patients who have not responded to or cannot tolerate other treatments like imatinib. The medication works by binding to and stabilizing the inactive form of the ABL kinase, thereby inhibiting the abnormal signaling that drives cancer cell proliferation.
Nilotinib is a targeted cancer drug used for chronic myeloid leukemia that works by inhibiting the BCR-ABL kinase to stop abnormal white blood cell growth.

Treatment of Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (Ph+ CML) in chronic and accelerated phases for patients who are resistant or intolerant to prior therapy including imatinib. Also approved for newly diagnosed chronic phase CML.
Nilotinib binds to and stabilizes the inactive conformation of the ABL kinase domain within the BCR-ABL fusion protein. By inhibiting this abnormal tyrosine kinase, it prevents BCR-ABL-mediated signaling, which inhibits proliferation of leukemic cells derived from CML.
May cause serious cardiovascular events including QT prolongation, sudden cardiac death, and peripheral artery disease. Requires fasting conditions for proper absorption. Regular monitoring of blood counts, liver function, electrolytes, and cardiac status is necessary. Must be taken exactly as prescribed with specific fasting requirements.
