Filgrastim
Nivestym (filgrastim-aafi) is a biosimilar granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) that stimulates the bone marrow to produce more white blood cells, specifically neutrophils. It is primarily used to reduce the risk of infection in patients undergoing chemotherapy, those receiving bone marrow transplants, and individuals with severe chronic neutropenia.
Nivestym is a white blood cell booster used to prevent infections in chemotherapy patients and those with severe chronic neutropenia.

Nivestym is used to reduce the incidence of infection in patients with non-myeloid malignancies receiving myelosuppressive chemotherapy, to reduce the duration of neutropenia in patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation, and to treat severe chronic neutropenia in patients with congenital, cyclic, or idiopathic neutropenia.
Nivestym is a granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) that binds to specific receptors on neutrophil precursors in the bone marrow, stimulating their proliferation, differentiation, and activation. This results in increased production of neutrophils, which are essential immune cells that help fight bacterial infections.
Nivestym is administered by subcutaneous injection. Common side effects include bone pain, fever, and injection site reactions. It should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to filgrastim products or E. coli-derived proteins. Patients should be monitored for splenic rupture, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and allergic reactions. Regular blood monitoring is required during treatment.
