Romiplostim
Nplate (romiplostim) is a thrombopoietin receptor agonist used to treat thrombocytopenia (low platelet counts) in adults with chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) who have not responded adequately to other treatments. It works by stimulating the bone marrow to produce more platelets, helping to reduce the risk of bleeding associated with low platelet counts.
Nplate is an injectable medication that treats low platelet counts in adults with chronic ITP by stimulating platelet production in the bone marrow.

Nplate is indicated for the treatment of thrombocytopenia in adults with chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) who have had an insufficient response to corticosteroids, immunoglobulins, or splenectomy. It is not approved for treatment of other conditions causing low platelet counts.
Nplate is a thrombopoietin receptor agonist that binds to bone marrow receptors to stimulate platelet production. It promotes the growth and maturation of megakaryocytes, which are the cells that produce platelets, thereby increasing platelet counts in the bloodstream.
Nplate is administered as a subcutaneous injection and requires regular blood monitoring to adjust dosing appropriately. Potential risks include bone marrow reticulin formation with long-term use and increased risk of blood clots. Patients should be monitored for signs of bleeding or thrombosis during treatment.
