Nyvepria is indicated to reduce the incidence of febrile neutropenia in patients with non-myeloid malignancies receiving myelosuppressive anti-cancer medications that have a clinically significant incidence of severe neutropenia with fever.
Nyvepria is a colony-stimulating factor that works by binding to specific cell surface receptors on hematopoietic progenitor cells, stimulating their proliferation, differentiation, and activation. This increases the production and release of neutrophils from the bone marrow, helping to restore immune function during chemotherapy cycles.
Nyvepria should not be administered within 14 days before to 24 hours after chemotherapy administration. Common side effects may include bone pain and injection site reactions. Patients should be monitored for signs of splenic rupture, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and allergic reactions. Regular blood monitoring may be required during treatment.
