Treatment of house dust mite (HDM)-induced allergic rhinitis with or without conjunctivitis in adults aged 18-65 who have confirmed HDM allergies.
Contains standardized extracts from Dermatophagoides farinae and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus house dust mites. As an immunotherapy, it works by inducing immune tolerance through daily sublingual exposure, modifying the immune response to reduce allergic reactions over time.
Not for acute symptom relief; intended for long-term treatment. First dose should be taken under physician supervision due to risk of allergic reactions including anaphylaxis. Common side effects include oral itching, swelling, or throat irritation. Patients should have auto-injectable epinephrine available. Contraindicated in severe asthma or previous severe reactions to similar immunotherapy.
