Elacestrant
Orserdu is an oral selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD) used to treat postmenopausal women and men with estrogen receptor-positive (ER+), HER2-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer that has developed ESR1 mutations and progressed after at least one line of endocrine therapy. It works by binding to and degrading estrogen receptors, blocking the estrogen signals that fuel certain breast cancers.
Orserdu is a targeted oral therapy for ER+/HER2- breast cancer with ESR1 mutations that no longer responds to standard endocrine treatment.

Treatment of ER+/HER2- advanced or metastatic breast cancer in postmenopausal women and men with ESR1 mutations whose disease has progressed following at least one line of endocrine therapy. ESR1 mutations are detected through FDA-approved testing.
Orserdu is a selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD). It selectively binds to estrogen receptors (ER) in cancer cells, inducing a conformational change that leads to receptor degradation. By reducing ER levels, it blocks estrogen-mediated signaling and inhibits tumor growth in ER-dependent cancers.
Common side effects include musculoskeletal pain, nausea, fatigue, vomiting, and hot flashes. Use with caution in patients with liver impairment. May cause fetal harm; effective contraception required during treatment. As a tablet taken once daily with or without food, adherence is important for optimal outcomes.
