Relief of dysuria (painful urination), burning sensation, urinary urgency, and frequency associated with urinary tract infections, catheter use, or urinary tract procedures. Used as adjunctive therapy alongside antibiotics for treating UTIs.

Acts as a local analgesic on the urinary tract mucosa, providing direct symptomatic relief. Exhibits mild antibacterial properties against certain uropathogenic bacteria. Does not treat the underlying infection itself.

Typically prescribed for short-term use (2 days maximum). Commonly causes orange-red discoloration of urine and other body fluids, which can stain clothing. May cause headache, dizziness, or gastrointestinal upset. Not recommended for use beyond 48 hours without medical supervision. Does not replace antibiotic therapy for active infections.
