Revlimid is used to treat multiple myeloma (in combination with dexamethasone), myelodysplastic syndromes with deletion 5q, and mantle cell lymphoma. It may also be used in other conditions as determined by an oncologist or hematologist.

Revlimid is an immunomodulatory agent that enhances immune system function, reduces blood vessel formation to tumors (anti-angiogenic), and directly inhibits the growth and survival of abnormal blood cells and cancer cells.

Revlimid is only available through a restricted program (REMS) due to severe birth defect risk—pregnancy must be excluded before, during, and after treatment. Common side effects include low blood counts, blood clots, and fatigue. Patients should not donate blood or sperm during treatment.
