Ryzneuta is used to reduce the incidence of infection, as manifested by febrile neutropenia, in patients with non-myeloid malignancies receiving myelosuppressive anti-cancer drugs associated with a clinically significant incidence of febrile neutropenia.

Ryzneuta contains pegfilgrastim, a long-acting form of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) that binds to specific receptors on bone marrow cells, stimulating the production, maturation, and activation of neutrophils (a type of white blood cell essential for fighting infections).

Ryzneuta is administered as a single subcutaneous injection once per chemotherapy cycle. Common side effects include bone pain, joint pain, and muscle pain. Patients with known hypersensitivity to pegfilgrastim or filgrastim should not use this medication. Rare but serious risks include splenic rupture and acute respiratory distress syndrome. Available only by prescription.
