Selinexor
Selinexor is an oral antineoplastic medication used primarily for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. It works by inhibiting exportin 1 (XPO1), a protein responsible for transporting molecules out of the cell nucleus, leading to accumulation of tumor suppressor proteins and reducing cancer cell growth.
Selinexor is a targeted cancer therapy that blocks nuclear export proteins to restore tumor suppressor function in cancer cells.

Selinexor is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma who have received at least one prior therapy. It may be used in combination with other agents or as a single-agent treatment depending on the clinical scenario.
Selinexor reversibly inhibits exportin 1 (XPO1), a protein that normally transports tumor suppressor proteins, growth regulators, and oncogenic mRNAs out of the nucleus. By blocking this export, selinexor causes accumulation of tumor suppressor proteins in the nucleus while reducing oncogenic protein production, leading to decreased tumor cell viability and increased cancer cell death.
Selinexor is administered orally, typically once weekly. Common side effects include fatigue, nausea, decreased appetite, and weight loss. Platelet counts and nutritional status should be monitored during treatment. The medication requires careful dose management and may need supportive care to manage side effects. Patients should follow their healthcare provider's instructions regarding dosing and monitoring schedules.
