Cushing's disease (when surgery is not an option or has not been successful) and acromegaly in adults who have not responded adequately to other treatments.

As a somatostatin analog, it binds to somatostatin receptors and inhibits the secretion of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), which reduces cortisol production in Cushing's disease, and reduces growth hormone and IGF-1 levels in acromegaly.

Administered by subcutaneous injection, typically twice daily. Common side effects include hyperglycemia, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, gallstones, and injection site reactions. Requires blood glucose monitoring, especially in diabetic patients. Should be used with caution in patients with diabetes, liver impairment, or cardiac conditions.
