Synribo is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with chronic phase or accelerated phase chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) with resistance and/or intolerance to two or more tyrosine kinase inhibitors such as imatinib, dasatinib, or nilotinib.

Synribo contains omacetaxine mepesuccinate, which inhibits protein synthesis by preventing the elongation of polypeptide chains. This targets the BCR-ABL protein responsible for uncontrolled growth of leukemia cells.

Synribo is administered by subcutaneous injection, typically twice daily for 14 consecutive days per 28-day cycle initially. Common side effects include low blood cell counts (myelosuppression), bleeding, diarrhea, nausea, fatigue, and injection site reactions. It should not be used during pregnancy. Regular blood count monitoring is required during treatment.
