Taliglucerase Alfa
Taliglucerase Alfa is a recombinant enzyme replacement therapy used for the long-term treatment of Type 1 Gaucher disease in adult patients. It works by supplying exogenous glucocerebrosidase, an enzyme that patients with Gaucher disease are deficient in, allowing for the breakdown of accumulated glucocerebroside in macrophages throughout the body.

Treatment of Type 1 Gaucher disease in adults who have been diagnosed with the condition. It helps manage symptoms such as anemia, thrombocytopenia, bone disease, hepatomegaly, and splenomegaly associated with this lysosomal storage disorder.
Taliglucerase Alfa is a recombinant form of the human enzyme glucocerebrosidase. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of glucocerebroside into glucose and ceramide. By supplying exogenous enzyme, it compensates for the deficient endogenous enzyme activity in Gaucher patients, reducing substrate accumulation in macrophages (Gaucher cells) throughout the reticuloendothelial system.
Administered via intravenous infusion. May cause hypersensitivity reactions during infusion. Regular monitoring of hematological parameters and organ volumes is recommended. Should be used with caution in patients with known hypersensitivity to the active substance or any excipients. Treatment should be overseen by a physician experienced in managing Gaucher disease.
