Talvey is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma who have received at least four prior lines of therapy, including a proteasome inhibitor, an immunomodulatory agent, and an anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody.
Talvey is a bispecific GPRC5D-directed CD3 T-cell engager. It binds to both the GPRC5D protein on the surface of multiple myeloma cells and the CD3 protein on T-cells, bringing them together to enable the immune system to attack and destroy the cancer cells.
Talvey is administered as a subcutaneous injection. Common side effects include cytokine release syndrome (CRS), fever, fatigue, and taste changes. Due to the risk of CRS and other serious adverse reactions, it is typically prescribed under a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) program and requires close monitoring during and after administration.
