Tezepelumab-Ekko
Tezepelumab-Ekko is a human monoclonal antibody that targets thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP), a key driver of airway inflammation. Severe asthma in patients 12 years and older who remain uncontrolled despite use of inhaled corticosteroids and other standard asthma medications. May be particularly beneficial for patients with eosinophilic inflammation.
Tezepelumab-Ekko is a monoclonal antibody that binds to and neutralizes thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP), an epithelial cytokine that initiates and sustains inflammatory responses in the airways. By blocking TSLP, it prevents downstream activation of immune cells and reduces airway inflammation, mucus production, and asthma symptoms.
Administered as a subcutaneous injection every 4 weeks. Common side effects may include oropharyngeal pain and arthralgia. Serious hypersensitivity reactions are possible. Not indicated for acute bronchospasm or status asthmaticus. Patients should be monitored for reduction in oral corticosteroid use after initiation.
