Tivorbex is used to treat pain, stiffness, and swelling associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute musculoskeletal pain. It may also be prescribed for acute gouty arthritis and bursitis/tendinitis.
Tivorbex contains indomethacin, an NSAID that reduces inflammation and pain by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby decreasing the production of prostaglandins that cause inflammation, pain, and fever.
Like all NSAIDs, Tivorbex carries risks of gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, kidney problems, and increased cardiovascular events. It should not be used during late pregnancy and may interact with blood thinners, other NSAIDs, or blood pressure medications. Patients should take the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
