Prevention of nausea and vomiting due to motion sickness (sea, air, or land travel) and prevention of post-operative nausea and vomiting. May also be used off-label for other causes of nausea.

Transderm Scop contains scopolamine, an anticholinergic medication that blocks acetylcholine receptors in the brain. This reduces signals in the vomiting center of the brain and the inner ear, which are involved in motion sickness and nausea responses.

Apply the patch to a hairless area behind the ear at least 4 hours before travel. Common side effects include dry mouth, drowsiness, blurred vision, and dizziness. Avoid alcohol and operating machinery while using. Not recommended for patients with glaucoma, urinary obstruction, or certain other conditions. Consult a healthcare provider before use.
