Twyneo is indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris in patients 9 years of age and older. It helps treat both inflammatory acne (papules and pustules) and non-inflammatory acne (blackheads and whiteheads).
Twyneo contains two active ingredients: tretinoin, a retinoid that normalizes skin cell turnover and prevents clogged pores, and benzoyl peroxide, an antibacterial agent that reduces Cutibacterium acnes bacteria and has mild anti-inflammatory properties. Together, they address multiple causes of acne.
Twyneo is for topical use only and should not be ingested or applied to broken, eczema-affected, or sunburned skin. Common side effects include skin irritation, dryness, peeling, and increased sun sensitivity—sun protection is strongly recommended. Avoid contact with hair, colored fabrics, and surfaces as benzoyl peroxide can cause bleaching. Initial worsening of acne may occur during the first few weeks of treatment.
