Temporarily relieves minor aches and pains associated with headaches, muscle aches, backaches, arthritis, the common cold, toothaches, and premenstrual/menstrual cramps. Also reduces fever.
Acetaminophen works in the central nervous system to inhibit cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which helps reduce the production of prostaglandins that cause pain and fever. Unlike NSAIDs, it has minimal anti-inflammatory effects.
Do not exceed 4000mg of acetaminophen daily to avoid serious liver damage. Avoid alcohol while taking this medication. Consult a doctor before use if you have liver disease or are taking blood thinners. Not recommended for children under 12 without medical advice.
