Ultravate is indicated for the relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, including plaque psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, eczema, contact dermatitis, and other inflammatory skin conditions.

As a topical corticosteroid, Ultravate works by suppressing the inflammatory response through multiple mechanisms, including reducing cytokine production, inhibiting immune cell migration, and decreasing vascular permeability. This helps relieve redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort associated with inflammatory skin conditions.

Ultravate is for external use only and should not be applied to the face, groin, or axillae unless directed by a physician. It is a high-potency steroid and should not be used for prolonged periods or on large body surface areas due to risk of systemic absorption and side effects such as skin thinning, stretch marks, or hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression. Use in children should be closely monitored. Do not use under occlusive dressings unless specifically prescribed.
