Valchlor is indicated for the topical treatment of stage IA and IB mycosis fungoides-type cutaneous T-cell lymphoma in patients who have received prior skin-directed therapy.

Valchlor contains mechlorethamine, an alkylating agent that works by cross-linking DNA in rapidly dividing cells, including abnormal T-cells in the skin, which disrupts their ability to grow and divide.

Valchlor is for topical use only and should be applied only to affected skin areas. Common side effects include skin reactions such as dermatitis, redness, and itching at the application site. Patients should avoid contact with mucous membranes and wash hands after application. The medication may increase the risk of secondary skin cancers with long-term use.
