Active immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis, Haemophilus influenzae type b infection, and hepatitis B in infants and young children starting at 6 weeks of age as part of routine childhood vaccinations.
Contains inactivated or purified antigens from each target pathogen (including diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, acellular pertussis components, inactivated polio virus, Hib polysaccharide conjugate, and hepatitis B surface antigen) that stimulate the immune system to produce protective antibodies without causing disease.
Administered by intramuscular injection according to standardized childhood immunization schedules. Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any vaccine component or who had severe reactions to previous doses. Appropriate medical treatment should be available in case of rare anaphylactic reactions. As with all vaccines, protection may not be achieved in all recipients.
