Treatment of iron deficiency anemia, particularly in patients with chronic kidney disease (especially those on hemodialysis), inflammatory bowel disease, or other conditions where oral iron is poorly tolerated or ineffective.

Provides iron directly into the bloodstream via intravenous infusion. The iron is delivered to the bone marrow and incorporated into hemoglobin to restore normal iron levels and red blood cell production.

Administered as slow IV injection or infusion by a healthcare professional. May cause hypersensitivity reactions; patients should be monitored during administration. Not for use in anemia unrelated to iron deficiency. May temporarily discolor serum or urine.
