Vilobelimab
Vilobelimab is a monoclonal antibody that targets C5a, a key component of the complement system involved in inflammatory responses. By binding to C5a and blocking its interaction with the C5a receptor, it reduces complement-mediated inflammation and tissue damage.
An immunosuppressant monoclonal antibody that inhibits C5a to reduce complement-driven inflammation in certain conditions.

Common uses
Therapeutic indication
Vilobelimab (marketed as GOHIBIC) is used to treat serious inflammatory conditions where excessive complement activation contributes to tissue damage, particularly in critically ill patients.
As a chimeric IgG4-kappa antibody, vilobelimab binds to C5a with high affinity (Kd 9.6pM), preventing C5a from engaging the C5a receptor and thereby inhibiting complement-mediated inflammatory signaling.
This medication suppresses immune function and may increase risk of serious infections. Patients should be monitored for signs of infection. It is administered intravenously under healthcare supervision. Patients should inform providers of any concurrent infections or immune conditions before treatment.
