Vimseltinib
Vimseltinib is a targeted anticancer medication classified as a kinase inhibitor. It works by blocking the colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1R), a protein involved in the growth and survival of certain cancer cells. This drug is used in the treatment of conditions where CSF1R plays a significant role in disease progression.
Vimseltinib is a kinase inhibitor that targets CSF1R to treat certain cancers by blocking tumor cell growth and survival signals.

Vimseltinib is used to treat tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT), a rare non-cancerous tumor affecting joints and tendon sheaths. It is prescribed when surgery is not feasible or would cause functional limitations.
As a selective CSF1R inhibitor, vimseltinib blocks the receptor from receiving signals from its natural ligand (CSF1). This inhibits tumor cell proliferation and reduces the inflammatory response driven by CSF1R-expressing cells, helping to shrink the tumor and relieve symptoms.
Common side effects may include fatigue, elevated liver enzymes, and edema. Patients should have liver function monitored during treatment. Vimseltinib may cause fetal harm and should not be used during pregnancy. Drug interactions with strong CYP3A inhibitors or inducers may affect efficacy.
