Symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee in patients who have not adequately responded to conservative therapies such as physical therapy, exercise, or over-the-counter pain medications. Typically considered when knee pain interferes with daily activities and quality of life.

Visco-3 contains hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring polysaccharide in joint (synovial) fluid. When injected into the knee, it supplements the depleted synovial fluid, restoring viscosity and elasticity to provide lubrication and shock absorption between joint surfaces, thereby reducing friction and pain during movement.

Administered as a series of injections (typically 3-5 injections one week apart) directly into the knee joint space by a qualified healthcare professional. Common side effects may include temporary injection-site pain, swelling, or warmth. Should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid, active joint infection, or skin conditions at the injection site. Effects may take several weeks to manifest and can last several months. Use cautiously in patients with severe inflammation or significant joint deformity.
