Vivlodex (meloxicam) is used to treat osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other inflammatory conditions causing pain and stiffness. It helps reduce inflammation, swelling, and pain in affected joints and tissues.
As an NSAID, Vivlodex works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are involved in the production of prostaglandins—chemicals that promote inflammation, pain, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin production, it helps alleviate inflammatory symptoms.
Like other NSAIDs, Vivlodex may increase risk of cardiovascular events, gastrointestinal bleeding, and kidney problems. It should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration possible. Patients with aspirin sensitivity, bleeding disorders, or kidney/liver impairment should use with caution. Always consult a healthcare provider before use.
