Wal-Profen is used to temporarily relieve minor aches and pains due to headaches, muscle aches, backaches, minor arthritis pain, toothaches, menstrual cramps, and the common cold. It also reduces fever.
As an NSAID, ibuprofen works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are involved in the production of prostaglandins—chemicals that promote inflammation, pain, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin production, Wal-Profen helps alleviate these symptoms.
NSAIDs may increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, and stomach bleeding, especially with prolonged use. Consult a healthcare provider before use if you have a history of stomach ulcers, kidney problems, heart conditions, or are taking blood thinners. Do not use near the end of pregnancy.
