Winrevair is indicated for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH, WHO Group 1) to improve exercise capacity, improve WHO functional class, and reduce the risk of clinical worsening events. It is approved for use in adult patients.

Winrevair is a fusion protein that acts as an activin signaling inhibitor. It binds to activin ligands, preventing their interaction with activin receptors. This mechanism helps rebalance BMPR2 and other signaling pathways that are often dysregulated in PAH, promoting improved vascular remodeling and cardiopulmonary function.

Winrevair is administered as a subcutaneous injection, typically once every 3 weeks. Common side effects may include headache, telangiectasia, peripheral edema, and dizziness. Patients should be monitored for hemoglobin and platelet changes during treatment. It should not be used during pregnancy. Winrevair is generally used in combination with other PAH therapies and requires appropriate training for self-administration.
