Selinexor
Xpovio (selinexor) is an oral prescription medication classified as a selective inhibitor of nuclear export (SINE). It is primarily used to treat adults with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma and relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) when other treatments have not been effective. The medication works by targeting and inhibiting exportin 1 (XPO1), a protein responsible for transporting molecules out of the cell nucleus.
Xpovio is an oral cancer medication used to treat certain types of relapsed multiple myeloma and lymphoma by inhibiting a protein involved in cancer cell survival.

Xpovio is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (in combination with dexamethasone) and relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), typically after prior lines of therapy have failed.
Xpovio inhibits exportin 1 (XPO1), a protein that normally transports tumor suppressor proteins and other regulatory molecules from the cell nucleus to the cytoplasm. By blocking this export, the medication causes these protective proteins to accumulate in the nucleus, leading to cancer cell death.
Xpovio is taken orally, usually once weekly. Common side effects include fatigue, nausea, decreased appetite, weight loss, and low blood cell counts. The medication requires careful monitoring by a healthcare provider and may require supportive medications to manage side effects. Patients should discuss potential drug interactions and complete blood count monitoring with their physician.
