Prevention of yellow fever disease in individuals traveling to or residing in endemic areas of sub-Saharan Africa and tropical South America. May be required for travelers entering certain countries where yellow fever transmission occurs.

Contains a live but weakened (attenuated) form of the yellow fever virus using the 17D-204 strain, which stimulates the immune system to produce protective antibodies without causing yellow fever disease in immunocompetent individuals.

Contraindicated in immunocompromised patients, infants under 6-12 months (depending on risk), pregnant women, and individuals with severe egg or protein allergies. A single dose provides long-lasting immunity, though some countries may require proof of vaccination within the last 10 years. Should be administered at least 10 days before potential exposure. International vaccination certificates are valid for life.
