Zaditor is used to temporarily relieve itchy eyes caused by allergic conjunctivitis, including reactions to pollen, pet dander, grass, and other common allergens. It helps reduce eye redness, irritation, and watering associated with allergic responses.
Zaditor contains ketotifen, an antihistamine that works by blocking histamine H1 receptors in the eyes. This prevents histamine from triggering allergic symptoms, thereby reducing itching, redness, and inflammation associated with allergic reactions.
Zaditor is available over-the-counter for adults and children 3 years and older. For contact lens users, remove lenses before application and wait at least 10 minutes before reinserting. Mild side effects may include temporary stinging or burning upon application. If symptoms persist beyond 72 hours or worsen, discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider.
