Zarxio is used to reduce the incidence of infection in patients with non-myeloid malignancies undergoing myelosuppressive chemotherapy, patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation, patients undergoing peripheral blood progenitor cell collection and therapy, and patients with congenital, cyclic, or idiopathic neutropenia.

Zarxio is a colony-stimulating factor that acts on hematopoietic cells by binding to specific cell surface receptors, stimulating the production, differentiation, and activation of neutrophils in the bone marrow.

Zarxio is administered as a subcutaneous injection. Common side effects may include bone pain, fever, and injection site reactions. It should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to filgrastim products. Regular blood monitoring may be required during treatment. Patients should inform their healthcare provider about any spleen problems, skin conditions, or latex allergies before treatment.
