Zeasorb AF (antifungal) is indicated for the treatment of tinea pedis (athlete's foot), tinea corporis (ringworm), and tinea cruris (jock itch). It is effective against various dermatophyte fungi and can also help relieve associated symptoms like itching, scaling, and discomfort.
The active ingredient miconazole nitrate is an imidazole antifungal that works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption weakens the fungal cell membrane, causing the fungus to die. The powder formulation also helps absorb moisture, creating an environment less favorable for fungal growth.
Apply twice daily to affected areas for 2-4 weeks. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider if there is no improvement after 4 weeks, or if severe irritation or allergic reaction occurs. Keep out of reach of children. The powder form is particularly useful for treating infections in areas prone to moisture and sweating.
