Precautions
- avoid-overloading
- maintain-neutral-spine
Contraindications
- severe-osteoporosis
Pain management
- Ice therapy: 15-20 minutes post-exercise to reduce Achilles and peri-tendon inflammation
- Compression wrapping: elastic bandage for acute swelling management around ankle mortise and Achilles insertion
- Elevation: 30-45 minutes with ankle above heart level to reduce plantar fascia and joint swelling
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication: oral or topical NSAID use as prescribed for ligamentous inflammation
- Soft tissue mobilization: cross-friction massage to Achilles tendon and plantar fascia for chronic tenderness
- Joint mobilization: talocrural and subtalar glides for stiffness when inflammation resolved
